Association of Indiana Convention & Visitors Bureaus

Here is a sample ordinance for adopting the Uniform Innkeepeer's Tax in a county. A county attorney should write the ordinance or at least review it to ensure it meets the legal requirements of the state statute as to the expenditure of the tax dollars collected.

In addition, the tourism commission and/or tourism bureau must adhere to other requirements set forth by the Indiana State Board of Accounts because the entity is operating with public tax dollars. For more information, visit the Indiana SBA web site.
